The last several months have changed the landscape for businesses around the world with many having to quickly pivot to help their companies continue to prosper.

NFP is hosting a 45-minute webinar to discuss emerging legal issues across Canada since the start of COVID-19 as businesses return to the workplace. This is the final session of a three-part fall series hosted by NFP on key topics in the group benefits sector.

Emerging Canadian Legal Issues and Considerations

Wednesday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. ET

Stephen J Goodwin, a partner at Hicks Morley, will walk viewers through the last few months and speak about some legal challenges resulting from the pandemic and returning to the workplace. Whether it is people who do not want to return to the office, or safety issues that could be present, Goodwin will detail how the law has handled different situations and where issues can arise for employers.

Other topics to be discussed include layoffs, Infectious Disease Emergency Leave (IDEL) and new federal regulations with an explanation of what companies – and employees – are entitled to do. This webinar will also look ahead to see what considerations plan sponsors should have in the coming months around labour and employment.
